The Heart of Our Adventure
I started K B Outdoor Learning with a simple belief: that the best way to teach a child is to let them explore the world around them. What began as a small niggle that children were spending too much time indoors has grown into a dedicated space where nature-based sensory experiences meet playful discovery. The mission is to foster a deep connection with the outdoors through hands-on learning and shared wonder.
The Face Behind the Adventure
As an advocate for the importance of learning outside I began my career with the local wildlife trust as a volunteer and then a project leader in 2000. Following this I spent time as a Visitor centre manager and then a recycling officer for the council. Moving into the education sector in 2003, I am now a primary school teacher with over 20 years teaching in local schools. A lot of this time has been spent in Reception classrooms and the outdoor learning environment. More recently I have been the dedicated Learning Outside the Classroom lead at my current school, leading curriculum linked sessions for children aged 4 - 11.
